Solid tempo with Kote possessing enough dash to find the front. FAMEUX (3) looks the horse with the most scope to rebound. His Mt Newman fifth reads better than the bare margin after he was slow away, keen early and wide throughout, and his 1200m record gives him a strong base for this assignment. STATE OF FURY (6) is the obvious danger after winning a BM44+ at Northam and placing in a BM58+ at Kalgoorlie, though she does rise in race grade and only scored narrowly last time. LACEVINSKY (1) brings winning form from Junction, where he beat Keytrade by two and a half lengths in a BM56+, but he has to carry 63kg and prove as effective back to 1200m. KOTE (2) has the tightest recent sprint form, placed in BM68+ and BM64+ company at Carnarvon, and his distance record keeps him in the mix.
