Solid tempo with Geostorm leading from Seguro and Rose Diamond. Hunting value in the first. SEGURO (2) was held up badly at Canberra and was never tested last time. His form prior though stacks up strongly and he is proven at the distance. With even luck this time, he can run a big race. ROSE DIAMOND (7) took her time but finally brings winning form after shedding her maiden tag at Cowra, with a narrow second on the Acton before that. Gets the key booking of Heywood from the gun draw. Can keep the ball rolling now. GUNFIGHTER ROAD (4) is the least exposed of the field, leading to believe he has more upside than his rivals. Was a good winner at Nowra to kick off last prep but didn't go on with it in his next two before spelling. No public trials in readiness, so will pay to see what the late money thinks. BOURBON QUEEN (8) form is patchy but her best is good enough to threaten. Keeping safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Small play Seguro but wary of Rose Diamond & Gunfighter Road at good quotes.

That was a clear improvement on his Goulburn Class 1 run, where he was checked and held up in a race that never worked out. First look at Canberra, but recent improvement gives him claims. |
