Came True has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. YOUNG JACKSON (4) resumed at Te Rapa nearly 2 weeks ago, and was doing his best work late when finishing third over 1300m on a heavy track. He would prefer a firmer surface, and if he is not already looking for a mile or more, then he can have the last say in this even contest. LIVE ON AIR (13) followed up a stout run fresh up with a fast finishing third at Ellerslie a week ago, in a race she could have finished closer had she stayed closer the fence instead of coming wide in the run home. She is peaking at the right time, and is good enough to win this. CAME TRUE (5) is a very consistent gelding holding his form nicely this season. He will be even better with more time, but he can produce another honest effort in this. LOS SANTOS (3) has been runner-up in his last 3 starts on the bounce, and with some luck from a wide draw, he can figure in the top 4 again. GOSSIP (14) resumes from a spell with 3 tune-up trials under his belt, and he should not be taken lightly. Each way value. SUGGESTED PLAY: Live On Air each way.
