Reasonable tempo with Snow Horn Road probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. EXCESS RETURN (6) sets the standard in a race where the leading chances all carry some query. He resumed over 1600m at Kochi and finished fourth to Daoradaora, beaten just over five lengths, but he did pick up nicely in the straight and should have taken benefit from that outing. The drop back to 1400m is the question, yet his current profile still reads strongest. BEST DECISION (2) is the main danger, particularly with five wins and two places from ten starts at this track and distance, plus Eita Inoue back aboard with an excellent record on him. His latest two runs were plain, but the set-up is more suitable. SNOW HORN ROAD (7) was below his best last start, though his prior 3yo+ B2 win keeps him in the mix for the money. MORPHEUS (8) was a close second two back before a fair fifth at long odds, so he appeals more as a place threat than a winning anchor.

The strong pull is his Kochi 1400m record, with five wins and two places from ten, and Eita Inoue has placed on him every ride. Clear winning chance if he is within striking range. |

Third-up and back in trip help, though he must rediscover that sharper run quickly. |

That was a clear improvement on his Kawasaki failure over 2000m before the break. He was near the top of betting first-up and gets strong stable and rider support here. The 1400m back-up is the query, but he brings the best recent platform. |
