Pulsator should spear straight to the front of the small field.
High-quality Class 1. MONTRESOR (5) scrambled home on debut to back then drove hard in the concluding stages but just missed last start over 1300m at Goulburn. Progressive three-year-old who won't spend a penny from the good gate. Gets the nod in a race of many chances. PULSATOR (6) is the obvious danger after a dominant win on debut over 1200m here a fortnight ago. Should find the lead from the inside draw and with some natural improvement can take this next step. CAP D'AIL (2) stepped up to 1400m for the first time last start and broke his maiden with a dogged performance at this circuit. Trained here and should still have a bit more to offer. ANTHROPOID (1) raced wide without cover and did a decent job to be beaten just half a length in a similar race here recently. Talented and the addition of blinkers might add a little extra spark. SONNIG (8) is an each-way hope back in trip off a five-week let-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Montresor each-way.
