Aquilino and Fulmina's Legacy will settle forward and can set a moderate tempo. BETTER BLOOM (4) is the top selection in a maiden where several have had their chances but few bring a sharper recent profile. Her Moruya third, beaten a length and a half after being in the market, reads well for this, and her fourth here the start prior adds substance. Yet to be tested at the mile but the way she's been finishing off suggests she will relish it. MILCHEL (2) has been freshened with 52 days, kept up to the mark with a Warwick Farm trial. His two placings this campaign give him a genuine winning platform if he handles the break. HELLFIGHTER (1) has the best recent consistency, having missed by a nose at Wagga before a close third at Queanbeyan, but being beaten as odds-on favourite tempers the confidence. AVALON LADY (6) is the value danger for exotics after closing hard at Queanbeyan and running well on the Acton two back. Can run well in her first look at the mile. SUGGESTED PLAY: Better Bloom gets the nod.

Placed both runs this prep and blinkers go on; a strong chance despite 60kg. |

That followed a fourth here over 1400m on soft ground when she was hampered at the start and kept grinding away. The 1600m is the query, but her latest form gives her a strong hand. |
