Expecting Lord Midnight to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip. LORD MIDNIGHT (2) brings the most persuasive winning profile, having scored by a length over 1400m at Saga last start when respected near the top of betting. The drop to 900m is the obvious new test, but his recent record, proven Saga form and strong jockey partnership make him the horse to beat. TRIONFALE (6) is the main danger after a much better third in 3yo+ A2 grade, and he gets in light again, although he too has to handle the sharper trip. T M TALISMA (3) was plain last start but his previous third in 3yo+ A1 company reads well enough for this, especially with a prior win from one attempt at the distance. S C ALBER (1) lacks the recent punch of the top pair, yet his long-standing Saga record keeps him in the mix for minor money if the 900m suits.

His 14 wins at Saga command respect, but the sharp drop to 900m has to spark a better finish for him to be a genuine place factor. |
