Pace looks strong from Pure Mac and Carentan striding forward, with Dark Ambition kicking up on the inside. THE CRIMSON PIRATE (1) sat handy and ran away with the Lex Piper in a dominant victory. He's gone to another level this time in work after hinting at this talent throughout his debut campaign. The wide draw is the query, but he's the one to beat through the Lex Piper. SENTIMENTAL LEGEND (4) doesn't look out of place though coming here off a 1650m win last start in dominant fashion. He was a $1.85 fav there and rounded them up with ease. He'll be back in the run from out wide, but he's an untapped gelding who creates plenty of interest here. ABERDEEN FLYER (2) finished strongly in the Lex Piper and was clearly the best of the rest. Blinkers go on again now for Chris Parnham and the rise in trip looks ideal. Can feature again. DOMINATUS (3) was plain last start when the favourite in the Lex Piper. Better than he showed there however and he can return to form. LINCHPIN (5) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Crimson Pirate can make it a hat-trick.
