Moderate tempo with Exalted Kate leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. VERCELLI (11) was a barnstorming winner fresh at Clare and went very close to going back-to-back last week when charging hard late again. He now peaks on the quick back-up and will relish rising to 1400m. CHILLCUZ (4) finally landed the winning blow after teasing punters for a long stretch. He stays at the winning trip and can keep the momentum. EXTRA HOT (2) just lacked sharpness when resuming at Kingscote with the winner off and gone. He’ll be better for that and the rise in trip brings him right into the mix. ALL TOO MYSTI (1) cops a tricky draw but keeps Toeroek and comes through some hot races. Drops back to a winning trip off a 35-day freshen and only needs a touch of luck to be in the finish. IRREFUTABLY (8) continues to leave herself with too much to do but if they overcook it up front she’s the one who can sweep late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Vercelli to win.
