Although coming from wide gates Rouge Lyric and Moon Grail have enough early speed to cross and lead. ROUGE LYRIC (11) was in the money at Tokyo Dirt when resuming two runs back then could only manage fifth on turf at Tokyo over 1400m four weeks ago. Has the pace to take up a forward position. Overdue and shapes as a leading chance in this line-up. EVANS BAY (5) finished third, beaten 3.5 lengths, over 1600m at Tokyo on debut three-and-a-half months ago and has been kept under wraps since. Likely improver and can feature again. AIR VIBES (8) is a two-start maiden who filled a minor placing at Kyoto at the last run before spelling. Expect she has come on over the break. Rates highly and is one of the main hopes. MOON GRAIL (12) has not appeared since he finished tenth over 1600m at Tokyo Dirt on November 30. Worth plenty of thought.
