MORPHETTVILLE PARKS   14 Mar 2026

GOING: G(4)

M&J Chickens Handicap 1300m

Track: GOOD 4   Clear (Max: 24)   Rail: +6m 1000m-W/Post; +3m Remainder. Sectional 608m.

Kalmana should spear straight to the front of the small field. MATING CALL (1) returns after a sharp debut prep where she charged through the grades and closed out with a fifth in the G1 Thousand Guineas. She clearly has plenty of talent and should hit the ground running after three solid hit outs. SIR MYKA (5) has tackled two tough races to open his campaign and has been far from disgraced. He’s peaking now and carries a fitness edge over his main danger. LIGHT THE NIGHT (3) backs up quickly after finishing fourth behind the smart Shadhavar last week. He’s been rock solid this prep and is unbeaten over this track and trip. Holding his form puts him right in the finish. OAK PARK MADDISON (6) faces her toughest test but deserves her chance after destroying her rivals at Port Lincoln. She’s one to keep safe. MATAHGA (2) returns a gelding for the Stokes yard and is a knockout hope, especially if he’s close enough to launch late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mating Call to win.
