Little in the way of tactical speed so a moderate tempo is likely. SATURDAYS GIRL (3) came home strongly last start to finish a nose second over 1400m at Gold Coast. Worked home in good style and will be tough to stop. GRATIFICATION (6) is a former Victorian who didn't have much luck first-up from a wide gate. Was backed off the map at Dalby following and things didn't work out again. Strips fitter and an improved effort is on the cards. BASSETT'S CHOICE (9) was well supported over longer at Eagle Farm but didn't finish it off. Raced favourite over shorter at Grafton following holding on the place. She's good enough to make the finish. DEFIANT MISS (5) went close at the Gold Coast on debut at long odds but was plain there after also without much support. The extra metres should suit, and a 2kg claimer goes on. A better effort is likely. AMALFI BOY (1) is a likely improver from the Heathcote yard. SUGGESTED PLAY: Saturdays Girl to win.
