Moderate tempo with Cool Panels leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. SMUDGED (12) drifted back from her wide draw first-up and then hit line hard to place third at Sunshine Coast over 1200m. She strips fitter and has more up the sleeve. She will be hard to beat with average luck in the run. SECRET CYPHER (18) was in the money two starts back at Dalby and then improved his numbers beaten 3.5 lengths over 1200m in stronger at Doomben. Nicely placed with the 2kg claim and has the blinkers applied for the first time. Hard to risk the barn. COOL PANELS (1) was on speed winning comfortably at the track/trip this grade. Didn't go on with it at the Gold Coast following but gets in well enough with Newman's 2kg claim and can go better. SIX OF WANDS (2) is better suited dropping back to a sprint. Goes well this course/distance and the 2kg claim brings him into it. SUGGESTED PLAY: Smudged appeals most.
