Expecting a strong tempo with Bridal Waltz, Apache Song and New York Lustre going forward ahead of Recommendation and Inhibitions. The late market will be the key to BARAQIEL (3) who resumes here off a suspensory injury. That's the query but he has jumped out well and he's clearly the best horse in the race. The G2 Mcewen Stakes win at Moonee Valley would blow these away, just need to see him firm late. NEW YORK LUSTRE (8) is the danger and one that can capitalise if Baraqiel isn't ready. She's building a great record and beat key rivals home here in the G3 John Monash Stakes here first up. Fitter for that and is open to more improvement than more exposed rivals. BRIDAL WALTZ (9) beat the highly regarded She's An Artist in the Creswick Stakes last time out, making most of a slow lead speed. Can measure up. APACHE SONG (7) looks a big price. Ignore the end of preparation run. She ran well at G2 level two back and maps beautifully with Shinn aboard. YELLOW SAM (6) is flying and can set up well chasing a solid speed. SUGGESTED PLAY: Taking 3, 8 and 7 in a boxed quinella.
