Solid pace from Thermosphere Lad with Teabiscuit and Idyllic Ruler also pressuring. SOLDANELLE (4) worked through the grades nicely last campaign and moved well in a recent trial. Pike like what he saw at the trials as he lobs in the saddle first-up and she maps for a lovely midfield run. Can land the knockout blow first-up. MASAMUNE (1) was 2L off the winner last start when back to 1000m and that form may have been franked in the race prior to this. Out to 1300m now is a big tick and Brad Parnham hops back in the saddle. He appears the main danger. TRUE APOSTLE (6) trialled well and jumped in the market in a Open 3YO event first-up when just tiring late in the race. He'll be better for that effort and now Chris Parnham hops in the saddle having guided him to victory previously. Expecting improvement now and he'll be right in the finish. TEABISCUIT (12) actually won last start before being DQ'd for weighing in light. Hard to knock on recent form and deserves his chance. MANHATTAN STRIP (8) can be in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Soldanelle can score first-up.
