Plenty of pressure on from the outset. SCRUB CHAIN (3) deserved the Open 3 win over this distance at Rockhampton. Peaks for this and the promising galloper can go on with the job. OUTBACK BANDIT (6) spaced the 60 graders at Rockhampton first up and then missed a nose there in an Open 3 over 1200m. He should enjoy a soft run from the inside barrier and get every chance to run out the longer distance. IRAMA (5) peaks for the in-form Currie barn and his Gold Coast placing two back stacks up. Butler stays aboard and he can't be ruled out. COLE'S BEST (1) maps well and has the leading jockey on today. He can build on the Open 3 win here first-up. ASTRA STAR (4) has an awkward barrier but should be around the mark. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Scrub Chain.
