Looks a decent tempo with Aimpoint, Caffrey and Quothquan leading the charge. KIPLING'S JOURNEY (5) resumed at Stakes level and wasn't beaten too far before going close off a wide barrier in the Rockhampton Cup over a mile. Four back he led beaten a nose in a Doomben 78 over this distance, and that more than stacks up. He will use the inside barrier and stripping fitter is going to take stopping. QUOTHQUAN (8) brings strong figures from Ipswich and the Rockhampton Cup following when he was beaten 1L. He has his first try over a middle distance but gives every indication it will suit. Needs a good ride but is a player. LOGAN STREET LION (2) won the Rockhampton Cup and it was deserved. Carries more weight today and has to run out the middle distance. He will push forward and can't be ruled out. HYPE (1) wasn't beaten far in the same contest and it was a tough effort. Keeps the leading jockey and expect him to manage the step up in distance. AIMPOINT (6) is improving and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Kipling's Journey.
