Fast pace with Colmar showing out and Overfull crossing to apply some pressure. An extremely open edition of the Lightning Stakes with some progressive young horses but no established stars. SIR NOW (1) has been flying and has won his last four starts. Under the WFA conditions, he's very well in at the weights relative to his rating. He's drawn a wide gate but he knows how to win. OVERFULL (6) brings strong interstate form and was good when winning a feature race last time. She looks well placed and can run top three. SCAMPI (2) is an improving type from a top stable. She must be respected. OUT OF SQUARE (10) can run well at a bigger prices and can be included in wider plays. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sir Now to win again.
