Solid tempo with Exceedingly Magic possessing enough dash to find the front. STARTON (2) only peaked on his run late as favourite when resuming from a spell here last week, finishing fourth. He will only need a touch of luck from a tougher gate and is ready to set the record straight. Follow your money. CAPTAIN GEORGE (3) has been improving with each run back from a spell and was runner-up by a neck here a fortnight ago when starting as favourite. He cops a wide gate but can still go one better. MR JONES (6) flashed home late to win fresh up in his first run on this track, and his 2 starts since then have been disappointing. He is worth another chance in an even contest. DUMMY SPIT (1) has been a consistent type when racing on this track. He may not win often, but in this company, he is always a top 3 chance. CARAT TIME (11) pulled up after his resuming run with a sore leg. It is a good sign to see him backing up relatively quickly, and he is well worth including in all combinations.
