Not much early pressure but Juwala, Nigelnomates and Fast Impact can take up forward spots. RIO GRANDE (1) is edging his way to his first win and fought on gamely for second at Avondale 10 days ago. He is likely to secure another soft trip from a good draw and would be a well-deserved winner here. Follow your money. PLAYINASANDPIT (13) had been thereabouts in her last couple of trials and ran a bold third on debut at Tauranga nearly 3 weeks ago, when running on strongly late. She will naturally improve with the experience and won't be in this grade for long. CHARLEMAGNE (3) ran a much better race when finishing second at Tauranga last time out over 1400m. He will be peaking for the step up to a mile, and he is nicely placed to go one better. NIGELNOMATES (4) is a Central Districts visitor who will be resuming over a mile with a couple of trials under his belt. His future is over the jumps, but he can rip off a win fresh up in a race like this. FAST IMPACT (2) has raced his way into some good form, and a wide gate might not be a bad thing on a heavy track. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Nigelnomates would not be travelling here if he weren't some each-way chance.
