Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Cranford. Grade 3 placegetter SONSHI (4) is a promising type who finished in the placings over 1400m in the G3 Falcon Stakes at Chukyo at his last appearance on March 16. Has never been out of the placings first up from two tries. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run and expected to be in the finish. CRANFORD (11) was far too good first up last start when she scored by 4 lengths over 1400m at this track. Record at this trip is excellent and can go on with it. BOUNCY STEP (5) finished third last time over 1400m at Tokyo when resuming from a spell, beaten 2.75 lengths. Nicely placed to go a couple better. MEINER TIGRE (15) was well supported when resuming last time out over 1600m here and proved too strong, scoring by a nose. Open to plenty of improvement and cannot be ruled out.
