Expecting Affirm to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. FIGHTING MACHINE (2) appears the one to beat following a narrow defeat as favourite over this course and distance on resumption. He didn't have the best of luck there and probably should've got the job done. Blinkers go on, he's drawn better and Purton sticks. He ticks plenty of boxes and should be going one better. AFFIRM (12) led them up 13 days ago over 1200m here and gets the cheekpieces on first time. He has placed 2/4 over this track and trip and he carries no weight this time around. Can roll to the front and take plenty of catching with the light weight. MR ENERGIA (7) bolted in first-up over 1200m on the All Weather surface and steps out in trip for the first time today. Needs to bring that form onto the Turf now, but the rise in trip looks to suit and if he can improve again, he'll be right in the finish. FOOLISH HEART (9) has trialled nicely coming in to this and he's not to be discounted.
