Moderate pace from Diamond Soars taking it up with Regency Happy Star and Daily Trophy on his back. Slow start to the meeting. SMART LEADER (3) was only fair on resumption though he rates highly in this event on that effort. He was in the market there and Zac Purton sticking with the galloper is a positive sign. Can sit a little closer this time and get the job done. DAILY TROPHY (1) pulled up with mucus in his throat on resumption at Happy Valley but he does perform best over this course and distance. Hugh Bowman hops back in the saddle and he combined with the Fownes stable for a winning treble on Wednesday night. Maps well and should be filling the quinella. DIAMOND SOARS (6) was solid on resumption at Happy Valley and will appreciate the extra trip today. Wong's claim comes in handy and he's a winner at this track and trip previously. Looks an improver. VULCANUS (8) is best of the rest.
