From wide out Chesteray can slide over and set up a genuine tempo.
CHESTERAY (2) was handy on straightening but tired late to finish 3.3 lengths away in a Class 2 over 1400m at Armidale last Sunday. Facing a far easier assignment this time and the quick back-up is a positive sign from the stable. Ideally placed to score. DIXIE CAN (3) last raced when last of ten over 1000m at Tamworth five weeks ago. Is a winner here at this distance so it will be no surprise to see him turn things around. HALLOWED SON (4) worked home well without threatening at his latest appearance over 1300m at Moree. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and gets to his optimum distance. AVOID ME (8) disappointed last start at Nowra after an excellent second over 1350m at Newcastle the run before. Big chance if at her best. JUST JACKY (5) wasn't far away at Armidale last weekend and is worth including in exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Chesteray to win the last.
