TAK WAH HANDICAP 1400m Track: STANDARD
Solid pace from Oriental Tycoon and My Flying Angel fending off pressure from other on-pacers engaged. FORERUNNER (8) settled back in the field but closed off well over this course and distance 20 days ago. Fitter for that effort, though he's expected to settle back in the run once again. Was in great form at the end of last campaign and if he can recapture that form today, he'll be hard to beat. NORTHERN BEAST (2) went back-to-back at the end of last season and comes into this with two quiet trials under his belt. Bowman has a good record when riding for David Hall and he maps to get his chance from an inside alley. He appears the main danger. HAPPY DAILY (6) ended last season on a winning note, getting the job done narrowly over this course and distance. Fitter for two trials coming in and he was very impressive in his most recent. Ho sticks and he's sure to go close. AMAZING RUN (5) may have had his form franked by now and he's not to be discounted after a good win on resumption.
