BOSSY STAR (4) impressed last start at Geelong when launching late to score stylishly, and the race has already proven a strong form reference with multiple subsequent winners. Faces a stiffer test under a big weight and wide draw, but still looms as a leading contender if he can replicate that effort. BALASTIER (3) resumed in terrific order at Seymour, putting his rivals away with ease in a CL1, and has since been kept ticking over with a jump-out. Drawn to get every chance for Prebble and shapes as a key danger. NASRAAWY (1) has speed to burn and will push straight to the front. Forgive his latest effort, he’s been freshened and gets an important claims. Will give a bold sight if he finds his best. MASKED MARAUDER (5) produced a brilliant barnstorming win fresh at Warrnambool. This is harder but he has upside and shouldn’t be overlooked. EXCENIA (12) returned a stronger galloper judging by her jump-outs and can be closing hard late with Dee engaged. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bossy Star to win.
