ROC UP RALPH (3) made a winning debut over hurdles at Te Aroha in his penultimate start, and then was runner-up back on the flat at Te Rapa just over 2 weeks ago, when finishing second by a short-head. Hard to beat again. SKAW VALLEY (4) had been failing to get around error-free in his hurdle races until putting it all together at Te Aroha last week, scoring easily by over 2 lengths. A repeat of that effort will make him hard to hold out again. HIDALGO (1) just battled on the flat last start at Te Aroha and needed the hit-out as he was blowing hard after the run. He has real ability in this role and can bounce straight back into the money. UHTRED (12) and KEEPS OCCURRING (2) are both capable of playing a role in the finish here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Roc Up Ralph can win, but he won't have it all his own way.
