Strong tempo expected with Spicy Standard, Awesome Treasure and Aurora Patch prominent. INVINCIBLE IBIS (3) stormed home in both runs last season to show flashes of brilliance, including first-up as the odds-on favourite. The winkers go on for the first time today and his recent trial was very good. Hopefully he can settle a little closer today and land the knockout blow. CHINA WIN (6) was strong late over 1400m on debut last campaign and is no doubt in line for a 4YO Series berth later in the season. Zac Purton hasn't ridden the gelding publicly, but hops on board for his resuming effort in a good push for his chances. Expecting him to be better over further, but this looks a good kickoff point. KING OBERON (12) has to be included on the way he ended last campaign, jumping favourite here at the end of the season. He found one better that day, but looks nicely placed after the claim and he can feature in the finish again. AWESOME TREASURE (5) should get every chance from the inside draw and has winning claims.
