RED WAVE (11) set the pace over 1500m on the Kenilworth Winter course last time, but found one too good on the day. The son of Erik The Red would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Gavin Lerena is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and the combination may be hard to peg back. LOMU (2) stayed on well when fifth of 11 over this distance on the Kenilworth Winter course last time. He is a progressive type and may have more improvement to come. SMART HORSE (4) is a seven-start maiden who could only manage to finish sixth at his latest appearance over 1600m at Kenilworth. Having his third run this prep and in a fitter state has to be respected. KING'S COLOUR (5) (5) was never really a threat when resuming last start over 1200m at Kenilworth, finishing eighth of nine.
