DUKE OF PLUMPTON (5) has been a very accomplished flat performer over the years, and won his first race over hurdles at Riccarton just over 4 weeks ago when scoring by a wide margin. He will go close to repeating the dose here. HAPPY STAR (1) has been a top jumper for a long time and is still racing as well as ever. Even though he has not won for some time, he can still be very competitive in this. NEVER LOOK BACK (3) was unsuited by a holding heavy track at Riccarton last start and finished well back. He was an impressive hurdle winner on this track before that, and can certainly bounce back to win this. BRUCIE (6) showed a glimpse of some better form when finishing second over steeples at Hawera 15 days ago. He can bring that form to the hurdles here, and another good run is on the cards. TAIKA (2) has seen his form drop away this winter, but he just needs his confidence back, and then we get to see what he can really do. Don't drop him yet. SUGGESTED PLAY: Duke Of Plumpton to win, but don't rule out a return to form for Taika.
