Anticipating a genuine tempo over the 1100m journey. POKER (11) is an intriguing debutant by Spirit Of Boom out of the quality mare Karuta Queen, who has produced black-type winners. Jumped out nicely and represents a strong yard. Bright start anticipated. GUNZ (7) has shown promising signs in two career starts, finishing in the money on both occasions. Wasn’t far away last start when racing more prominently to finish third at Sandown-Hillside. Peaking now and with the same tactics applied from the wide draw he could take plenty of catching. MEDIEVAL WARRIOR (13) resumes and looks ready to go judging by two strong jump-outs. Although unplaced last campaign, he's a better horse now and strikes a winnable assignment fresh. HELLFIRE BAY (8) is another newcomer with a handy pedigree. Fitter for two jump-outs and from a soft draw he can play a major role. KING LUIGI (9) returns and is another to keep in mind. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Poker on debut.
