Genuine tempo with the speedy Telecom Fighters and California Spangle matching motors. MUGEN (5) was good in the Sha Tin Vase over 1200m and he looks suited by the rise in trip. Karis Teetan has an impressive record aboard the gelding and he hops back in the irons. Can hold a closer spot this time around and get back to winning ways. CALIFORNIA SPANGLE (1) is the class runner of this field and beat most of these in the G1 Chairman's Sprint Prize but does meet them worse under the conditions this time. He's a proven G1 horse though and out to 1400m isn't an issue. He's been kept up to the mark with two good trials since and he's sure to be right in the finish again. TAJ DRAGON (2) will appreciate getting back to this trip, as well as dropping plenty of weight for today's assignment. He maps for a lovely run in transit for Atzeni and a return to his best form would see him go close. FLYING ACE (4) looks as though he'll appreciate the extra journey now and he'll put his best foot forward.

Clearly the class of this event and his best would see him win despite the weight. |
