Decent field size but it lacks an on-pacer so only expecting a moderate tempo. DEBONNAIRE (1) won by 0.9L here last time out over 1200m and rises up to this trip once more. Both times he's been to this distance have been in tougher races and he looks well placed third-up into the campaign where he is a winner previously. Draws ideally and can bring up back-to-back wins. LACIE ACE (8) got over the top to win by 0.4L at this track last start, winning by 0.4L in Maiden grade. The wide draw is no issue as she'll get back anyway, and the rise in trip will be welcomed. Watch for her running over the top of them late. SHE'S A MACHINE (12) disappointed last start over 1760m after some strong efforts over the mile prior. She's right back in trip on this occasion, but she has performed well here earlier this campaign. Nicely drawn and won't be far away. MILITARY ACTION (5) is ticking along nicely this time in and can put his best foot forward. BRAZEN EMPRESS (7) can be in the finish if she can build on what she's done so far this campaign. SUGGESTED PLAY: Debonnaire gets the nod in the last.
