GOING: H(10)

OTAGO ENGINEERING RATING 75 1600M 1600m

Track: HEAVY 10     True

Pace looks to be genuine with Where's Wally and She's So Reliable matching motors in advance of Bauble and Bleakhouse Burtie. BAUBLE (1) won at Timaru 3 starts back, and then was not far away in a better field at Oamaru after that, before a battling effort at Riccarton nearly 4 weeks ago over 1800m. He has a very good record on this track, and with a deserved top weight to carry, he will be the one to beat this time. CALL ME AL (3) has been racing well without having much luck lately. If he can repeat his winning here near the end of May, then there is no reason why he can't take this out. WHERE'S WALLY (2) put together a pair of solid efforts at Riccarton. He needs it wet to show his best, and in a field that lacks depth, he can run into the top 3 again. SHE'S SO RELIABLE (5) has been spelling and changed stables since her last start at Otaki late last year. She has the pole position, and if right, she can give this a big shake. RADIANT REACH (4) ran a better race when fourth at Riccarton nearly 4 weeks ago. She has not missed a cheque in 3 starts here, including 2 wins, and she can figure in the top 3. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bauble to win, and Call Me Al close up with She's So Reliable in all combos.
