Plenty of early pace with Claptone and Wilderness Star to vie for the lead, pressured by Auzstar and Dark Euro. REBEL'S EDGE (6) filled a couple of minor placings before failing last start in heavy going when asked to step up to the mile at Taree. Far better placed back to this trip so with a bit of luck from a tricky gate he can find the winner's circle. AUZSTAR (3) raced up on the speed but felt the pinch in the final stages last time out over 1300m at Warwick Farm. Draws a good gate for the first time in a long while. Big chance back in a country handicap. CLAPTONE (5) led and just failed to hold on when fresh from a 40-day let-up over 1262m at Taree recently. Strips fitter and is sure to run a strong seven furlongs. STROBING (4) battled on well for third over the mile at Taree last start. Doesn't win out of turn but he gets in well with the claim and is a strong top-three contender. WILDERNESS STAR (11) can be hard to catch but at her best she is capable of testing this field. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rebel's Edge each-way.
