Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Town Belt. BAKHITA (1) showed plenty of ability when trained in Australia, and will be making her NZ debut in a very winnable race. She last started near the end of June at Scone and was beaten by a nose. She will still carry some residual fitness, and with the aid of a 3kg claim, she is the one to beat. LEEDOX (2) was moved on from Hong Kong after having a bleeding attack in his last start at Sha Tin late last year. He looked in good condition at a recent trial, and the Stephanie Faulkner team has good results with her imports. If he can find his form of old, then he can push the top pick. NIGHT RAIDER (6) will be backing up quickly from a fourth at Riccarton 6 days ago, and before that, he was a game sixth at Oamaru. He races on pace and will again be a top 3 chance. SHOOTING STRIDE (3) got too far back on the inner at Oamaru nearly 7 weeks ago and has been given time to get over that run. Include in all combos here. GAME DUKE (7) ran on late last time out, and is not out of this at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: It looks like a race in 2, with Bakhita and Leedox fighting it out.
