Genuine tempo from Street Fightin Man leading Stolen Magic. MARTELL (2) has been moved on after finishing fourth at Te Rapa last time out on a heavy track. He is making his South Island debut against some easier opposition, and will still be fit despite it being nearly 6 weeks since that last start effort. He is down in class and should be too good. STREET FIGHTIN MAN (3) showed some signs of improvement at Riccarton 6 days ago. He has won twice on this track and is the main threat to the top pick, if there is one. STOLEN MAGIC (5) resumes from a spell over a trip that is well short of her best. She looked in good condition at a recent Ashburton trial and can run into the money. Watch for her late. TAP 'N' GO (6) is a consistent veteran who has a good record on this track. He has been racing recently on the Riccarton poly track, so he will be seasoned enough to cope with a heavy turf track. Each way claims again. PRINCE ALBY (1) is classy at best, but will want more ground than 1200m. Include in combos to be safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Martell is the one to beat, but Street Fightin Man is due to show some form again.
