Decent field size but it lacks an on-pacer so only expecting a moderate tempo. HAPPY HERO (12) bolted in over 2000m last start, winning by 2L and never giving his rivals a sniff once he took the lead 650m from home. He may need some luck from the wide draw, but Hewitson remains in the saddle and he drops 5.5kg for the rise in grade. Can repeat the dose. JOY OF SPRING (6) has been playing bridesmaid throughout his first season, but he continues to knock on the door. He's been kept up to the mark with a recent trial and although he's expected to be back in the run, he's sure to be storming over the top of them late in the piece. SERANGOON (1) rattled home to miss out by 1.8L last start when second over 2200m at the Valley. Back to 1800m on this occasion, though he has won over this trip previously. Should be right int he finish if he can run up to recent efforts. VOLCANIC SPARK (5) can mix his form a touch but his best form can see him find the frame.
