Slick pace with Sea Serpent finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. SEA SERPENT (4) was highly fancied last time but could only manage fifth over 1500m at this track. Has been freshened up since that run. Expected to bounce back. BIJIN (9) has switched yards since finishing 12th seven-and-a-half weeks ago over 1600m at Niigata. Worth serious consideration. GREAT JOURNEY (10) has been about the mark of late. Last time out was 1.3 lengths from the winner in second over 1400m at Ohi. Kota Motohashi who has scored on him six times retains the mount. Capable of running a bold race. SPARTA LEONIDAS (6) ran below expectations last time at Funabashi, finishing 11th and beaten 15 lengths. Deserves another chance.
