MINO BELL (1) has the most rounded profile of the main chances, coming off a second to Night Sailing over 1700m at Mombetsu and already proven at this track and distance. The margin was still six lengths, so he is not bombproof, but he has recent matchup edges over Ichi Ryuo and Riko Jupiter. ICHI RYUO (5) brings two straight thirds and closed off strongly last start, though the 19-start maiden record keeps the enthusiasm in check. RIKO JUPITER (6) was doing her best work late behind Night Sailing and has a recent Mombetsu win over 1200m to recommend her, with the 1700m still the key test. SUPERCHARGE (8) has been costly as favourite at recent runs, but three placings from three attempts at the Mombetsu 1700m keep him firmly in the each-way mix.
