Genuine tempo with Engel leading the way. MOFUBUKI (7) deserves top billing after consecutive Mombetsu seconds, the latest beaten a neck by Excellen Winner over this trip when well found near the top of an open market. Her track-and-distance record gives the profile substance, although she has placed more often than won. AMMIRAZIONE (3) is the cleanest danger on consistency, having finished third at her past two runs, each time beaten a length and a half, and she has repeatedly held her form at this course and distance. ENGEL (8) is harder to read after finishing last behind Steel Amber, but the previous Mombetsu win over Tomoni Miru Hope was strong enough to keep her in the winning mix if she rebounds. MIWAKUNO HOSHO (5) comes through a nose second to Good Time Ask and has the sharpest last-start result of the quartet, though her broader profile still reads more as a genuine place chance than a runner to take short odds about.
