SHINATSUHIME (5) brings the most persuasive recent profile, having won a 3yo+ C1 over 1200m at Funabashi after being beaten half a length there the start before. The move to 1500m is the obvious question, but her consistency and recent market respect make her the runner to beat. RUNE FACTOR (6) is the clear danger, unbeaten in four Kanazawa runs and dominant here last start when scoring by three lengths, with the distance record also in his favour. IFRITIA (3) has been a costly but reliable favourite at her past two, winning by a nose after being beaten a neck, and her Kanazawa record keeps her right in the argument. FIRST FLOWER (10) has won her past two here in decisive fashion, including a five-length latest victory, but she profiles a shade more as a place-leaning winning hope against this stronger core.
