He was only fair when fifth behind Layover in 3yo+ B1 company last start, but his previous Kanazawa win over Soul Yunibansu gives him a valuable reference point, and his record at this track and distance is sound. SOUL YUNIBANSU (7) brings the better last-start performance, running second to Le Serment D'Amour after being unwanted in the market, and his consistency keeps him right in the contest despite a modest overall win strike rate. PRIME LINE (4) is the proven track-and-distance runner of the main hopes, with three wins and one place from five tries here, though he must rebound from a plain fifth behind Yuino Kokyu. WHITEHEAD (8) resumes from a three-month break after successive 3yo+ B1 wins at Kanazawa and has a perfect three-from-three record at this track and distance, so he is a genuine threat if forward enough.

The run prior was a fifth in 3yo+ B1 company behind Amethyst Lord, again from the back and beaten seven and a half lengths. His track-and-trip history is the counterpoint, but recent evidence leaves him with plenty to find. |

Three wins from three starts at this track and distance is a major asset, and while fitness first-up is the natural question, his exposed form is good enough to take seriously. |
