TAISEI GOSH (5) brings the clearest winning profile after scoring at Mizusawa over this course and distance by two and a half lengths as a prohibitive odds-on favourite. His Tokyo Dirt second to Tokai Leo before the break adds depth, and his distance record gives him the strongest platform. CONFIANZA (4) is the main danger if she improves second-up from Niigata, where she was respected in betting but beaten just under six lengths over 1000m; the rise to 1400m is the key test. LAPHETYE (9) also won here last start, beating Setsunasa by just over a length, and his track-and-distance record keeps him right in the argument despite a poor 1700m run two back. SEEKING THE BIRTH (2) has a knockout hope for the minors and beyond after a sound Mizusawa fifth, with the four-length Morioka Dirt win over Ivy Kirari still reading well enough to respect.
