A race that lacks pace so expect a muddling tempo at best. WIN OASIS (11) has the clearest recent winning case after closing strongly for second at Urawa over 1500m, beaten a length and a half by Jazz Pianist, and that was a marked lift on his previous seventh here. The rise to 2000m is the obvious question, but he comes through the strongest current form. JUST THE VALSE (6) was second behind Tamamo Kompeito at Urawa and has the best supporting profile at this course and distance, with one win and four placings from 14 attempts. LE GRAND BLEU (12) is a proven Urawa 2000m mare with two wins at the track and trip and a solid jockey-horse record, though she must turn around the recent head-to-head with Just The Valse. RUBBLE PILE (8) resumes after six months and brings a pair of respectable Urawa runs from the autumn, including a third behind Meisho Fuso, so he is a genuine danger if forward enough first-up.
