SUNSET VERY (3) sets the standard after lifting sharply at Kasamatsu last start, finishing third to Chateau Periotto in 3yo+ A4B2 company and beaten a length. His Nagoya run prior was plain, but the return here brought the right response and his 1400m record gives that effort substance. SCHRODINGER (8) is the main danger, with a beaten-neck second here two back before a third to King Minister in 3yo+ A3 grade, and his deep Kasamatsu 1400m record keeps him firmly in the mix. HOME RUN BATTER (4) has been fourth at his past two, including behind King Minister last time, and profiles as a genuine minor-money threat with a strong jockey-horse record. SUNSET COLOR (2) was below par over 1580m last start, yet her earlier fourth at Kasamatsu and proven track-distance record give her claims if she rebounds.

That was a sound rebound from a ninth at Nagoya behind Stapes Shoma, where he was big odds and did not quicken. He is proven at 1400m and has the winning rider back, so this looks a suitable race for him to press his claims. |

Two back he was again unwanted in the market and beaten nine and a half lengths behind Maruka Blitz, despite finishing off only fairly from well back. The return in trip is a help on paper, but recent form says he must lift sharply. |

The latest effort earns respect, but she still has to reproduce it at Kasamatsu before she appeals as a main winning hope. |

His three wins and 17 places from 35 starts at this track and distance are a major asset, provided he stays close enough to use his finish. |
