BEST SKY (1) sets the benchmark after missing by just under a length behind Will Matic at Mombetsu when sent out a prohibitive odds-on favourite. The defeat is a small concern, but her broader profile is reliable, with three placings from four attempts at this track and distance. MAKAYENSE (7) is the obvious danger, having placed five times from six starts overall and again found one better last time behind Will Eiger. She has the stronger consistency line, though still has to convert it into a win. HELL EDGE ROAD (4) is harder to trust after finishing seventh, beaten just over nine lengths, but his previous fourth behind Ikor was good enough to keep him in the discussion. FENGMI (5) appeals as the value place-to-win upset chance after getting into third behind Will Matic at long odds, though she needs to prove that was a genuine turning point rather than a one-off spike.

Weight relief and race fitness are positives, but the exposed form says he has a sizeable gap to close. |
