SNOW CRUISE (4) sets the standard after breaking through at Kochi last start, scoring by three lengths from Liberty Flame after having some work to do. The two-month gap is the only real pause, but she is already proven at the trip and has the cleanest winning profile. GLINT RITTER (11) is the logical danger, having worked home for third behind Win Imeru and bringing a consistent past-12-months record, though he was behind Pod Conti recently. POD CONTI (5) was beaten only half a length first-up and has an excellent Kochi 1400m record, so he looks ready to press forward in his campaign. HIDENO BLUE SKY (6) was just run down last start at long odds and has a genuine track-and-distance grounding, but his prior 1600m failure keeps him a shade behind the main trio.

Returns from a two-month break after winning well at Kochi, beating Liberty Flame by three lengths on a fast track after having work to do before producing the better finish. That was a marked lift from her fifth to Gran Orca, where she was beaten over 14 lengths but still made late ground from a hopeless position. With a win from two at the distance and the latest result clearly the strongest piece of her profile, she is the runner they have to beat if holding that form. |
