BAMBI CHAN (4) sets the standard through consistency, having run second at her past three and most recently finishing second over 800m at Kasamatsu, beaten four lengths by Tayasu Sole after being well found in betting. The rise to 1400m remains the main question, but her prior second to Pretty Punk and strong place record with Tsutsui Yusuke give her the clearest profile. TEXTURE (3) is the main threat, with two recent fourths and late work that suggests the longer distance can help, though she is still a maiden after 13 starts and was behind Bambi Chan last time. HANANO KUROKO (6) bounced back sharply when beaten a length by Dona Dona and stays in the mix if that form holds. SMILING KING (7) has a poor overall record, but his latest finish had enough merit to make him a minor danger rather than a winning anchor.

She has placed twice from four starts this season and comes in with 53kg, so the latest effort gives her a genuine minor-money case, even if the long maiden record tempers the win confidence. |
