Plenty of pace on show, headed by Straya Pride, Ichiberu and Humble Hero. WOODSTOCK ROCK (5) gets the nod after an excellent Emerald win two back, then a sound Mackay second behind Contemporary over 1050m. The return to 1200m suits on his record, and his overall strike rate and wet-track consistency make him the most reliable option, although he was beaten as a well-backed runner last time. HUMBLE HERO (4) brings the strongest winning habit, having won a Benchmark 68 at Mackay after scoring in Benchmark 58 grade at Rockhampton, and his record with Natalea Summers is a major tick. ELLIBABY (10) was below market expectation at Thangool, but her narrow Emerald second two back and proven 1200m form keep her right in the race. ASTAPOR (8) is the value place threat: he has placed in both runs this prep, gets weight relief from Moree, and has already been competitive at Emerald, but needs to turn the tables on Woodstock Rock to win. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 5,4,10.

He had also run third in a Benchmark 65 here behind Betta Than Presley, beaten just under two lengths. Needs to prove he can repeat it in stronger company. |

WAYNE BAKER 6YO CHESTNUT GELDING 61.0KG W P Baker & D M Bruce Returns from a five-week freshening after finishing third in a Benchmark 70 at Roma, beaten three and a half lengths as favourite after beginning awkwardly and coming from a long way back. His Toowoomba run prior was plain when seventh in a Benchmark 65 behind Rubology. Proven at 1200m, but manners and recent winning edge remain the concerns. |

Two back he was beaten a nose in a Benchmark 60 here behind Entitle after starting unwanted in the market. Not the worst. |

That backed up a Rockhampton Benchmark 58 win over Itza Motza as favourite. Barrier one, wet-track form and the rider record all point to another big run. |

The run prior was a decisive Emerald win over 1000m, beating Contemporary by just under three lengths with a sharp turn of foot. Third-up to 1200m looks ideal, with the wide draw the main query. |

Class drop helps and he handles wet ground, but 1200m remains the key query. |
